The truth about trapping

Catch me if you can!

I was recently shocked once again to see how missinformed people are about trapping. Surfing on the net and finding something against trapping caused me to stop and take a look to see what people are believing these days. I was surprised to see that they were broadcasting over the net all their hard earned knowledge about how cruel it is to shock, beat and poison animals. This they claim is a part of trapping. Well I would like everyone on the planet to know that it is not a part of trapping or hunting and is not condoned by any trapper, hunter, hunting or trapping organization in any way shape or form. If you got to this page by accident and are against killing animals or you are just sitting on the fence, I want you to know that these organizations are lying to people. They will say anything to get your money and to support stopping what they don't agree with. Trapping animals is done humanely. The use of connibears, and snares alongwith leg traps are very humane. Connibears kill instantly as well as snares. Leg traps on the other hand only hold the animal there by the foot not the leg, till you can arrive to shoot it. They are not suffering any pain whatsoever. Walking up on a coyote or a fox that is sleeping after he has finished eating all the bait you left to catch him, doesn't show that he is in any hurry to leave. All the fox and coyote I have ever leg trapped only lay there watching me as I approached. I even woke the odd one up as I got real close.
I have never seen an animals leg chewed or mutilated either. These people go on about all this stuff and it is so far off the truth they don't know what the truth even is. I also read that to stop the animals from chewing feet off we use a tree that shoots them up in the air leaving them hang by the foot in the trap...NOT!
There is no need cause it just isn't true. They say that the law differs from place to place about when we have to check traps from 24 hours to one week. That is not true with leg traps. With a leg trap they must be checked every 24 hours by law and I have yet to see a coyote or fox or anything else froze to death or even hurt. I could have let anyone of them go and they would have lived and walked without a limp. A connibear around here doesn't have to be checked every day. The animal is dead! The only reason you want to check it often is so that another animal doesn't eat your catch.

I was wondering how an animal is trapped by electric shock or by poisoning. How would you do that? I can't see the shock thing but the poisoning thing could be done: Only problem is you wouldn't find the animal. What good would that be to a trapper? These activists are really twisted and will tell you anything they can to get you turned off to the fur industry and all its beauty. Fur is the warmest and most beautiful coats made on the face of the earth and if you don't want to keep warm then don't get one. The other information I seen was also incorrect on the number of pelts used to make a coat. I sure can't see how these people can lie about something they know nothing about. In my mind they are a bunch or radicals and rich people that want to conform us to the way they are. If you have any questions about fur and the way different animals are trapped then please feel free to email me and I will do my very best to explain it to you. One other point... We, as in we hunters and trappers sink more money into the management of our natural resourses than any of these wanna be do gooders out there. Maybe they out to shut their mouths and their organizations down and go buy a hunting license and put some money back into where it makes a difference instead of spending millions of dollars on their tv shows telling the sad sad stories of how animals have feelings too.
