A
picture is worth a thousand words!
This
coyote was harvested in late November and was shot with a 22-250rem
at 460 yards. It was a reload with a 50grain v-max bullet and
36 grains of imr 3031. Velocity at the muzzle chronographed at
3956fps. One shot, one kill from the prone position of course.
These next three pictures are
from Terry down in PA... I take it the one deer he shot is one
of the two standing there alive.
and
a nice looking snow goose Terry shot here. I hear it's getting
stuffed so I'm expecting a nice picture of it when it's done.
This is Terry from PA with his Spring Turkey this year. That
sure is a nice one Terry! Hope you had him for dinner!
Thanks again for sending me
the picture.
Ah, we better post this one. This is
Paul from Michigan with his first coyote. It was a nice shot
at about 35 yards with a 22-250.. We had more of them wanting
in but someone on a 4-wheeler interupted us. He just couldn't
figure out where the sound was coming from and drove around the
rock pile where the tape player was sitting about 10 times and
almost ran over the dead coyote each lap. It was the funniest
but most annoying thing I've seen yet out there hunting. If only
wish I'd brought the cam that day. The story is alot funnier
if I were to tell you in person... more detailed.. lol
I bet Paul will remember
that hunt for a long long time...right Paul???
This coyote was shot
on December 25,2004 at about 1am. I was just getting ready to
go to bed and I thought I'd better check my bait first. I looked
out the window and there he was on the bait only 50 yards from
the house. I grabbed my gun and snuck out the side to the fence.
He must of heard me be caus e
he started walking towards the hole in the fence where he came
through. So I hit the mouse squeeker I have taped on the side
of my gun. He stopped and looked, and then I shot. He jumped
in the air a little bit and spun around and took off toward the
field next to us. So I waited about a half hour to go find him.
I called my good neighbour Joe up to tell him the news. He said
good job and then came over and helped me track him. He was only
50 yards from the fence where I shot him. It was a nice lung
shot made with my Marlin 22mag.
This
pics are from someone named David from over in Whales. He shoots
alot of fox and rabbits. I know that gun he's shooting is a t3
tactical chambered in .223rem and according to David it shoots
1/2 inch groups at 100 yards right out of the box. Those T3's
shoot good no matter where abouts you live!

When
parting the hairs to to speak.. this coyote was absolutely crawling.
See all those dots? I believe that would be lice....and it wasn't
just in one spot... the whole coyote could probably crawl away
if you just sat it down long enough. Whatever way you look at
it... I think I done him a favour. Wonder how many other coyotes
in that area are infested like this one was?

This one is the buggy one on
the left here. It was a good shot on a small coyote, just too
bad it was infested.
On
a cleaner note.. this coyote I caught today on January 16th 2007,
was as clean as a whistle. No bugs on this male weighing in at
39lbs.. and that's on an old grain scale.. it felt like more
but I'm not too fussy on weights. I was probably 2-3 years old.I
drove my son into school today to see 3 deer in the field.. and
on the way back the deer were gone but there was this coyote
standing in the field caught by a hind leg. Guess he won't be
chasing any deer anymore. If he'd only learned to eat mic and
other rodents like he's suppose to eh?
Well here's the latest. Was
out for a short hunt the other morning and jumped a big jackrabbit.
Went stalking it and when it jumped up and ran out between me
and my hunting partner it was good shooting with my 17hmr at about 90 yards
the first shot while it was running full out through the long
scrub and when it got up and ran again I had one shell left in
the gun and hit it again while it was running at about 75 yards.
Once again, for all those that think the 17hmr is a coyote gun..
wake up! It does however make a good bunny gun and for shooting
groundhogs out to around 100 yards or so.
