Info and pics of different animals..

The Eastern Coyote Weight: 30-55lbs usually 40-45lbsColour: grey, black, red, blonde and variations.........

Red Fox Small in size, the fox makes up for it with it's hunting skills and pure cunning, One of Ontarios most beautiful animals........

Gray (Timber) Wolf The Timber Wolf or Gray Wolf is a large predator that when compared side by side with its smaller cousin the coyote is uncompareable.....

Raccoon This masked bandit is very clever. They can be very social if fed but at the same time are wild animals and should be treated with respect. Hunted with dogs at night, if caught during a chase can inflict damage on a hound. Raccoons damage crops, especially corn fields and are valued for their fur. They hibernate most of the winter and nocturnal but often seen in the daytime depending on location.

White Tailed Deer The Whitetail Deer in Ontario is a very desired animal to hunt. Alot of hunters take time off every year just to enjoy the outdoors and pursue the Whitetailed Deer.

Wild Turkey Reintroduced into my local area, the wild turkey is regarded as a trophey bird almost like a big game animal. You must take a course and buy tags worth over $20.00 each to hunt them.

Lynx

Fisher The Fisher is part of the weasel family and is the only animal I can think of that kills and eats porcupines succesfully. They also prey on rabbits and squirrels as well as birds. A good sized male would weigh 15 pounds. Their furs were valued greatly years ago but don't sell for a third as much as they use to. This is one animal I wouldn't be turning my hound on.

Skunks Black with a white stripe, can be found commonly in the city picking garbages and composters. There are different types of skunks but all the ones I've seen smell unless they're decended and kept as pets... and this isn't good because skunks are the second largest carrier of rabies. Bats being first and foxes being third.

Beaver Canada's fur industry was built on the trapping of this animal and sales are still strong each year. They live pretty much in the water and you can see their houses back in marshes and ponds. People mostly complain about them cutting down their trees, and who can blame them.. they clear out quite an area and I mean they will take trees down off front lawns at night. These animals can only be taken by licensed trappers here in Ontario. Same as Fisher, Lynx, as well as alot of other fur bearers.
