Bowl For Kid's Sake 2002

Read on to have all of your questions answered...

What, Where, When and How?

  • Bowl For Kid's Sake 2002 date T.B.A.

  • We will be holding the main event at Lakeview Bowl in Market Plaza with a satellite location at the Millbrook Bowling arena.

  • Bigs and Littles are encouraged to take part by collecting pledges from friends and family on behalf of their team and to participate in the event by either bowling as part of a team or as a match.

  • Bigs and Littles can call the agency and sign up now! This would give you first choice of the day and time that you wish to bowl and will give you a head start on your pledge requests throughout the Christmas holidays.

How Does it Work?

  • Bowling participants put together a team of 4-6 members which can be either a team of friends, family, co-workers, or if part of our membership, may opt to sign up for a "Big & Little" team (which we will help organize).

  • .Teams attend at their pre-agreed time slot and check in at the receiving table (where they turn in their collected pledges).

  • The teams do not compete against each other for bowling scores, but rather for "Best Team Outfit" and "Highest Team Pledges".

  • Individuals can also win prizes for highest individual total pledges

  • Early Birds who sign up for the event right away will be eligible to win a great dinner prize for their entire team!

Who are the Participants?

  • Bowlers can be teams from every walk of this community, from staff of a business to a group of students, to a family who wants to share time together doing something great for the community! And of course members of the agency.

How Will Your Participation Help?

  • Every dollar raised goes to the funding of the agency's programs

  • Dollars raised assist with the funding of our In School Mentoring Program allowing us to purchase baking goods, games and activities for our Littles and Mentors to enjoy while getting together

  • Dollars raised assist with the creation, production and delivery of our bi-monthly newsletter which allows us to keep our members up to date

  • Dollars raised help fund the expenses of our many special events put on for our Bigs and Littles, from Kids & Kops to our Annual Baseball Game.

This is another event that we have not as of yet been successful in confirming a date yet (this will be determined by the city parade committee). As soon as we are advised of the date we will "spread the word" and let you know when the parade is to take place. Each year, as part of our parade participation, we invite Bigs and their Littles to join us and ride on the float. This year we are hoping we can get some of our Littles not yet matched out there to help us with the event and because it is such a fun evening it seemed like a natural part of that to invite our Occasional Bigs to join in and share the fun. Anyone interested should call Shari to sign up.

December-Christmas Gift Wrapping

This year's Christmas Gift Wrapping event at Lansdowne Place Mall will be taking place for the month of December. This is a very successful fundraising event for the agency and has been a great source of fun and inspiration for all who have taken part. We have enjoyed the assistance of a varied source of volunteers, from regular members of the community, Bigs with their Littles, staff, agency volunteers, media personalities, and more! The shifts are relatively short and you can book your time according to your schedule. Anyone who has a hard time getting into the spirit of the season is sure to enjoy taking part, as you can't help having fun! It's contagious! Anyone interested in taking part and/or getting more information can call the agency and we will be happy to take your name and tell you all about it .
